Seongsu is no longer a neighborhood people visit only for cafes. Showrooms, select shops, pop-ups, brunch spots, and dessert cafes are scattered across its side streets, so spending a full day here usually means walking more than expected.
That is why the best stops in Seongsu are not always the most famous ones. Sometimes, what matters more is finding a place that fits naturally into your shopping route — somewhere to sit down, eat something light, or take a quiet break before moving on to the next store.
This guide focuses on six cafes and casual dining spots that work well between shopping stops in Seongsu. From brunch sandwiches to desserts, shaved ice, and small roastery coffee, these are the kinds of places that make a Seongsu day feel slower and easier to enjoy.

How to Choose a Cafe in Seongsu
Seongsu has no shortage of good cafes, but choosing one can feel surprisingly difficult once you are actually there. Popular places fill up quickly, some cafes are better for photos than for resting, and weekends can make even a short break feel complicated.
For me, the most useful way to choose a cafe in Seongsu is to think about the route first. A brunch spot works better at the beginning of the day, a dessert cafe makes more sense after shopping, and a quiet roastery is usually better as a final stop.
The places below are not just for taking photos. They are the kind of cafes and casual spaces that can actually fit into a Seongsu shopping day without making the route feel too heavy.

Casual Brunch Before Shopping, “Butty Sandwich House”
Butty Sandwich House is one of the easiest places to start a Seongsu day without making the meal feel too heavy. The menu focuses on sandwiches, panini, and smoothies, which makes it useful before a longer shopping route.
Many cafes in Seongsu lean more toward coffee or desserts, but Butty works somewhere between a cafe and a casual brunch spot. It is the kind of place that makes sense when coffee alone does not feel enough, but you still want to keep the day light.
Since Seongsu usually involves more walking than expected, starting with something simple and filling can make the rest of the route much easier.
- Address: 1F, 31-22 Ttukseom-ro 17-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
- Point: Best for a light brunch before shopping in Seongsu.
Quiet Dessert Break in Seongsu, “Tenne”
Tenne is a bakery cafe worth saving if you like desserts more than large, crowded cafe spaces. Its strawberry matcha flan and other baked desserts make it feel more focused than many of the bigger cafes in Seongsu.
What I like about this kind of place is that it does not need to be overly dramatic. It works well as a quiet dessert stop when you want to take a break from walking around the busier streets.
It is especially useful in the middle of a Seongsu route, when you want something sweet but do not want to commit to a long meal.
- Address: 1F, 55 Ttukseom-ro 17ga-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
- Point: Best for a quiet dessert break in Seongsu.
Fresh Sandwiches & Slow Brunch, “&meal”
&meal is known for sandwiches made with fresh ingredients and slightly unexpected combinations. In Seongsu, where many cafes are more dessert-focused, it is a good option when you want something that feels closer to a proper meal.
The sandwiches are not too simple, and the ingredient combinations make the menu more memorable. It works especially well for people who like brunch but do not want anything too heavy before walking around.
Lunch hours can get busy, so arriving a little earlier usually makes the experience easier.
- Address: 3F, 5-1 Yeonmujang 3-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
- Point: Best for a satisfying sandwich or brunch before exploring Seongsu.
A Slower Dinner Stop, “oyoyoy”
oyoyoy is closer to a casual dining space than a cafe, but that is exactly why it works well in a Seongsu route. After walking around showrooms and shops for hours, there are moments when coffee is not enough and you want a more relaxed meal.
The menu leans toward seafood, with items such as triploid oysters and sea urchin, so the mood feels different from typical brunch cafes in the neighborhood.
This is the kind of place that fits better in the evening than at the very beginning of the day. It works well when you want to turn a shopping route into a slow dinner plan.
- Address: 1F, 45 Seongsuil-ro 4-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
- Point: Best for a casual dinner stop after shopping in Seongsu.
Japanese-Style Shaved Ice in Seongsu, “Koriya Seongsu”
Koriya Seongsu is a dessert spot known for premium shaved ice with a Japanese-inspired dessert spot. After walking around Seongsu for a while, something cold and sweet can feel much more satisfying than another cup of coffee.
It feels a little more special than a regular cafe dessert, which makes it a good stop when you want the break itself to feel like part of the day.
On warmer days, this is one of the easier places to imagine adding between shopping and a slower walk toward the Seoul Forest side of the neighborhood.
- Address: B1, 10-20 Wangsimni-ro 4-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
- Point: Best for premium shaved ice after walking around Seongsu.
Small Roastery Mood, “Brobell Coffee”
Brobell Coffee is a small roastery cafe that focuses more on coffee itself than on a dramatic interior. That makes it a good final stop if you want to end the day quietly.
Seongsu has plenty of large cafes made for photos, but Brobell feels more like a place to sit down and actually drink coffee. The mood is slower, and that can be exactly what you need after a long shopping route.
It works best when you are done moving around and want one last coffee before leaving the neighborhood.
- Address: 1F, 413 Ttukseom-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
- Point: Best for a quiet roastery coffee stop in Seongsu.
Seongsu Cafe Route Tips
Seongsu is not the kind of neighborhood where you need to rush through every stop. In fact, trying to visit too many cafes in one day can make the route feel tiring very quickly.
Starting with Butty Sandwich House or &meal works well if you want brunch first. After that, it feels natural to walk through the shopping streets, visit a few stores, and then take a dessert break at Tenne or Koriya Seongsu.
For a quieter finish, Brobell Coffee works better than another large cafe. Seongsu is most enjoyable when you move between food, shopping, and coffee instead of treating each place as a separate destination.
Seongsu Station or Ttukseom Station?
&meal is easiest to reach from Seongsu Station, Exit 4. The area around Yeonmujang-gil naturally connects with many of Seongsu’s main shopping streets, so it works well as a starting point for a longer shopping route.
Koriya feels closer to the quieter Seoul Forest side of Seongsu, making Ttukseom Station, Exit 7, the better option for a slower start with dessert or cafes first.
